The problem

Pharmacy is the line nobody can read.

It is the fastest-growing cost in the plan, and the one members understand the least. So they overpay, skip fills, and call the broker confused.

0%
of medical spend is Rx
And climbing every year, faster than the rest of the plan.

Why it's different

A formulary PDF helps no one.

The old way

Look it up yourself. Good luck.

A 40-page formulary PDF and a clunky carrier lookup tool.
No idea about tiers, prior auth, or a cheaper generic.
The price is a surprise at the pharmacy counter.
The broker gets the angry call either way.
With Keel

Ask Amanda. Get a real answer.

Plain-language coverage for any drug on your plan.
Tier, copay, preferred pharmacy, and prior-auth steps.
The cheaper generic to raise with your doctor.
At enrollment, drugs factor into the plan Amanda picks.
How we handle it

We explain your coverage. We never see your claims.

This is the important part. The formulary is a plan document, so explaining it is just reading your plan. When you ask Amanda about a drug, she answers from your plan, not from your prescription history. Keel does not ingest claims, medications, or diagnoses. Ever.

No claims, no prescription historyKeel never pulls or stores what you have filled. Coverage answers come from the plan's formulary.
What you tell Amanda stays encryptedIf you mention a drug to get an answer, it is handled as encrypted sensitive data, not shared and not sold.
Bank-level encryptionSensitive fields encrypted per tenant, with access scoped tightly by role.

Questions

The details.

Does Keel see my prescriptions or claims?
No. Keel never ingests or stores claims, medications, or diagnoses. Coverage answers come from your plan's formulary, which is a plan document. If you tell Amanda about a drug to get an answer, that is handled as encrypted sensitive data, never claims history and never sold.
How does Amanda know my copay?
From your plan. Keel reads the formulary, the tier structure, and the cost-share rules out of your plan documents, so a tier and copay are just your plan applied to a drug. For specialty drugs she also flags prior-auth or step-therapy requirements.
Can it suggest a cheaper option?
Yes, where one exists on your plan. For a brand drug, Amanda surfaces the generic or preferred alternative and what it would cost, so you have a specific thing to raise with your doctor. She never tells you to change a medication, only what your plan covers.
What does this do for the broker?
Pharmacy stops being the line you cannot explain. Members get clear answers without calling you, drugs factor into the plan recommendation, and the whole thing runs under your brand. It makes Rx a part of the value you deliver, not just a cost you defend.
